Finding the best auto insurance with a teen driver in your household can feel like a big decision with so many options to weigh – is it better to add your teen to your existing policy or on their own? Will your new driver increase your rates to a level that is difficult to afford?
The good news is, there are definitely ways to save money while insuring a teen driver. Insurance companies offer discounts for bundling policies, remaining a safe driver or receiving good grades. Benzinga has compiled a list of the top auto insurance companies for students and Mercury stands out as the best car insurance provider for teen drivers.
Benzinga analyzed the top car insurance companies to create a list with the best attributes, prioritizing coverage options, pricing and available discounts, and considering the availability of a mobile app and consumer reviews. Initial quotes were obtained using a base profile and then simulated adding a teen driver to that profile’s insurance. Mercury came out as the top insurance provider due to qualities like its Good Student discount.
“We’re honored to have been named a top insurance provider for teen drivers,” said Mercury Insurance President and CEO Gabriel Tirador. “Insurance for teen drivers can be expensive, which can cause parents a lot of worry, but at Mercury, we pride ourselves on helping make it easier for parents and families to safely take to the roads.”
Mercury has championed the cause of putting safety for teen drivers first with its Drive Safe initiative that helps provide driving education and resources for parents and teen drivers – from helping to understand traffic laws and the importance of proper vehicle maintenance to offering tips for selecting the right vehicle and insurance coverage.
