When April Lawson saw that Mercury was having a sports bobblehead giveaway for NHL team the Los Angeles Kings, she requested one for her grandsons, who are big sports fans, that were living with her after a challenging circumstance.
Lee Morrell, Manager of Advertising and Public Relations for Mercury wanted to do something memorable for the family.
“I saw the request and wanted to help out,” said Morrell. “It just seemed like the right thing to do.”
Lee sent the family a sports package that included bobblehead figures of the Kings hockey players, a mini helmet signed by USC football cornerback Ronnie Lott, and USC jerseys for Lawson’s two grandsons.
Lawson was stunned by the generosity. “We will cherish all this for years to come. We are so thankful for what [Lee] sent us. You have made [the] boys’ week. We love it.”
